About Me

Before becoming a CTI at Orange Grove, I taught grades 4, 5, and 6 for seven years.
Seeing how technology is a daily fixture in the lives of children, with cell phones, tablet computers, and game consoles providing new ways to play, network, and share information with others inspired me to obtain my M.A. in Instructional Technology.  I’ve learned how to combine the digital world’s media resources with modern instructional methods to create meaningful learning experiences.

The CTI position is rewarding because it gives me the opportunity to be creative. I have to keep coming up with new ideas, and I’m challenged constantly. I read blogs, I’m up on the latest research, I’m always looking at emerging tools – I really have to be aware of what’s going on in emerging technology. And what’s great is to have teachers appreciate that, and to see students so excited about it, and actually learning.
